How to use
- 1Type a word with your keyboard or the on-screen keys and press Enter.
- 2Green means the right letter in the right spot, yellow means the letter is in the word but elsewhere, grey means it is not in the word.
- 3Find the word within the allowed tries. Switch to Unlimited to keep playing and pick a word length from 4 to 8 letters.
FAQ
When does the daily word change?
At midnight in your own time zone. Your daily progress and streak are saved in this browser, so you can close the tab and come back.
How are repeated letters coloured?
The same way as the original: exact matches turn green first, then a yellow is given only for each copy of the letter still left in the answer. Extra copies are grey, so guessing SPEED against ABIDE shows only one yellow E.
What does hard mode do?
Any hint you uncover must be used: green letters have to stay in place and yellow letters must appear in every later guess.
How many guesses do I get?
One more than the word length: 6 tries for 5-letter words, 5 for 4 letters and up to 9 for 8 letters.
Which dictionary do you use?
ENABLE, a public-domain list of about 173,000 English words used by many word games. It is close to, but not the same as, the official Scrabble or Words With Friends dictionaries, so check a borderline word in your game before you play it.
